A PRACTICAL PLACE TO START

Start with what
you need right now.

Free pilot help for software ideas, expert decisions, Rails upgrades and AI opportunities. Each request has a reviewed 1–2 hour scope. Clear limits before any work begins.

Request a free first major-version Rails upgrade pull request for your Rails project. We review the starting point, agree one version step and a bounded scope, then assess feasibility.

A REQUEST, THEN A CONVERSATION

Good work starts
with good context.

You choose a preferred week. Vipul reviews the request and chooses when to reply and meet. A request does not reserve a slot or guarantee acceptance.

1

Tell us what matters.

Share what you want to build or solve, the desired week, your timezone, and enough context to make the conversation useful.

2

Agree a useful scope.

Vipul reviews fit and missing requirements. If there is a fit, scope and timing are arranged afterward. There is no promised response deadline.

3

Make the next move.

Work toward an agreed next step: advice, a learning session, or a feasible first PR. Any demo build needs a separate, explicit approval.

ENGINEERING JUDGMENT, IN THE ROOM

who works on Rails.

Vipul A M is Saeloun's founder and CEO, a Rails contributor since 2012, and a member of the Rails Issues Team.

His work spans application development, open source, technical writing, teaching, and community events. You get a conversation grounded in engineering practice, with the tradeoffs explained.

WHERE THIS CAN GO

Software help
for anyone.

The ambition is a simple Rails builder that helps more people turn ideas into useful software, with local AI and separately approved deployment previews.

That is the direction, not a platform available today. Today, start with a vetted, focused request. The current pilot is free, with an agreed scope; any demo, preview or deployment needs Vipul’s separate approval. There is no unlimited free delivery promise.

REVIEWED SCOPE · USEFUL NEXT STEPS

Useful software.
A smaller starting point.

Anyone can request a flexible 1–2 hour engagement. The pilot is free, with a reviewed scope and capacity limits.

Choose a preferred week and share your context. Vipul decides which requests to accept and arranges timing afterward. Team tools and a future chatbot remain private and unavailable. Any future community, demo, preview or deployment needs a separate approved scope.

BEFORE YOU ASK

Clear expectations.
Better conversations.

What is free?

Scoped software idea and internal-tool help, expert CTO office hours, scoped Ruby and Rails upgrade help and training, and a feasible first major-version Rails upgrade PR are free offers, subject to review and an agreed scope. Requests are open to everyone, with no sign-in required. AI business transformation discovery is also part of the reviewed free pilot. Implementation and ongoing support are not automatically included.

Am I booking a meeting?

No. You are requesting a flexible 1–2 hour engagement in a preferred week. Vipul reviews each request and chooses when to reply and meet. Submission does not reserve time, promise acceptance, or create a calendar invitation.

What does the free Rails upgrade PR include?

One agreed major-version step and a bounded first pull request if feasible after review. It does not guarantee compatibility, a full application migration, production deployment, or a merge. Your team remains responsible for testing and rollout approval.

Can I share designs or documents?

Yes: up to three PDF, PNG, JPEG, or plain text files, each up to 5 MB. Files are private and quarantined pending malware scanning. Share only material you are authorized to share; never upload secrets, production data, or credentials. Reference links are stored without automatic fetching.

Does submitting an idea authorize a demo?

No. The request helps define requirements and a possible demo scope. A demo needs Vipul's explicit approval for that individual request before work starts. No submission triggers an automatic build.

Is this endorsed by the Rails Foundation?

This is Saeloun's own initiative. Community links describe Vipul's work and help you explore Rails; they do not imply Rails or Rails Foundation endorsement of the offers.
